Description :

the survivalists is team 17's latest offering on the nintendo switch and as the title suggests it's a survival game that feels like a cross between terraria and stardew valley. The game begins improper with a minor storytelling segment that feels straight out of cliche 101. You’re shipwrecked on an island and in all honesty it's self-referentially basic and you'll unlock other story segments in the form of short diary entries which you'll find scattered across the island, or rather islands. And there are a number of different biomes as well as temples to explore and as you'd expect there's some procedural generation that goes into determining exactly where and when you'll find these diary entries. What i will say about them is the text was a little bit small for my liking. However, i tend to sit rather close to the tv it may be a tiny bit of an issue for some in handheld although it really isn't a huge part of the game. In terms of the gameplay as you'd expect it's a survival game which can be played solo offline or you can join friends locally or through online play. there are several games in this genre already that do it very well, so it's going to need a few tricks up its sleeve and the first and foremost of these has to be the monkey mimic system.

In this title what they've cleverly done is essentially allowed you to program simple scripts. by holding the left trigger down you can tell one of your monkey followers to observe your actions and upon the pressing of the trigger again they'll try and replicate as best they can. For example, you might be hoovering up some of the rocks in the area and then they'll do exactly the same and they'll just go picking every item up that they can find. it can be really useful and it mitigates, some of the frustrations that come from the often lethargically slow pace that survival games can tend to lean towards. In addition to this they'll gradually improve their ability to do these tasks leveling up. Which was a nice touch as far as your character goes you can customize the look to an extent as well as give them a completely unique and original name. But it's that clever implementation of the monkey system that really stood out to me it's not perfect and it's certainly not without its flaws but you can actually do quite a bit with this system. Such as, training up several monkeys and having them attack dummies to fight alongside you in essence building your own planet of the apes. It takes a bit of getting used to and in all honesty i don't think i really utilize them as well as i could have but the possibilities here are quite extensive. As far as the basic survival gameplay goes you'll be able to craft a number of items from the local flora and fauna such as an axe head from a rock which can be used to knock down trees and thankfully break other items. The parts you gather from these are shown at the bottom of your screen and depending on which ones you're holding it will gradually expand your crafting potential. Now, once you've built a workbench this grows even more and new recipes aren't learnt you don't have to do anything in particular other than owning the specific ingredients required in their development. Which is a nice touch but potentially means that you're going to unlock everything quite quickly. But there are quite a lot of secrets here, once you've built up your ship you'll be able to sail away to other islands.

Upon which you can settle build new bases and try and defend yourself from attacks and raids which happen from time to time and can be a bit of a pain in the ass. Some of the biomes will do your character damage such as the hot lava planes or the fly infested swamps. There’s a risk and reward mechanic here that i quite liked because they usually have some good or rarer items for you to find. buildings are constructed through a blueprint screen from here you can place down your different blueprints the parts of which you'll need to gather and place within them and then use a multi-tool, which range from standard up to a much better version to complete the build. very similar to something like my time at porsche if you ever played that game to save your game a la minecraft you'll need to build a bed and then sleep the beds you get can gradually be improved to improve your stamina which can be seen down in the corner of your screen here your health bar is shown over on the left and it's actually split into two segments one determines your hunger while the other your overall health and if it's fully depleted then you will fall unconscious. but i've gotta say as you know i do enjoy survival games and i haven't actually died yet but that's not to say the title's easy on the contrary combat is downright challenging. you can perform a number of swings dependent on the stamina that you currently have or you can hold the button down to do a more powerful attack there's a dodge roll which also can function as a counter attack if you can time it just right but it never felt quite right to me. There’s a slight input delay intentionally but it's there to all of your actions. When you press the sprint button there's a momentary pause before your character sprints. When you swing your sword again a tiny little pause arrows and bows were much better and i did enjoy the way you could hold the button down to aim them. But the game will take a bit of getting used to. It has a very distinctive style and feel but the temple runs feel suitably challenging and going it alone can be quite a daunting affair. This is where setting up a bed right at the entrance and saving your game is probably a good idea. Throughout your adventures you'll discover other inhabitants of these islands. Many of them will be hostile and attack you on site and there are a number of hidden discoveries to make as you would hope such as fulfilling the wishes of these totems it will then bestow upon you a hidden chest. Which you'll need to bash open to retrieve the goods there is a secret shop that pops up every now and then.

The owner of who will offer you a variety of different items but allow you to sell your own. It’s a real relief when you find him as he'll very often provide food upgraded weapons and the keys to the ends of the different temples. Other than the biomes themselves which are very varied the next real aspect to consider is the wildlife that shares this land with you. there are tons of different animals and creatures dotted about the world and some of these will be essential to your survival i found it really important to build a bow and arrow as quickly as possible as those pesky rabbits are just too fast otherwise. But there's everything from deer to stags who will attack you and even large sharks who i was able to cheese with a little tactic called stand on the shore and shoot them in a face with an arrow. There’s a strange euphoria that would upset every vegan as your prey explodes into several piles of meat. These can be cooked up on a fire and as with every other crafting aspect more recipes become available dependent on the items you hold in your hand. One aspect that i haven't been able to go into a great deal is the cooperative elements and i really feel like this is where the game is probably at its strongest. The world is a daunting place solo and having someone along for the ride certainly and surely would make it easier and more exciting. When i dive down into the temple spelunking for treasure having another adventurer at my back would have been most welcome. What i will say is i would have preferred perhaps a few more crafting recipes than what's on offer but i would have said exactly. The same thing when i first played terraria and the developers did exactly that the same can be said for minecraft. it's a really solid first outing it feels good to play perhaps i'd tweak the controls a little bit if i had my own way in terms of the slight delay that i mentioned but it's very good fun. overall for me gameplay scores 18 out of 20. The controls are remarkably clever with the monkey system and functionally everything they've chosen to go with makes sense such as the dodge rolls and the counter attacks but personally i'd remove that slight input delay when you sprint. Controls for me score 16 out of 20.

The game visually reminds me of stardew valley it's not an exact replica of that aesthetic but it has a certain charm to it. On the one hand at times it looks like a classic top-down pixel art title whereas at others there are hand-drawn elements that almost have a cartoony self-shaded aspect to them. There’s some punchy colors and good contrast in the scenery and while not overly complex the environments lend themselves to the feeling that you are indeed abandoned on a tropical island. The procedural generation tends to veer on the side of crowding areas with flora and fauna. Meaning that you have to knock areas clear and make your own space and your own mark on the land. i liked that a lot and while i always like to customize my own character it did feel like they could have gone a little further in that area, but renaming and customizing your troop of monkey friends was pretty cool. One area which is a touch lacking are the different variety of weather effects. in my entire play session which was around about 10 or 12 hours i never got rained on i mean i don't know if it's not there or what it just never happened. i also saw no snow and weather in general was pretty static. i loved the soundtrack and as the game has an ongoing day night cycle it shifts quite dramatically at night time becomes much more melancholic and i found the overall direction of the music was really on point.

If you think to your favorite titles there's always either one piece of music or one environmental sound that sticks in your head and for me it was the night time shift and the real mood change that that music provided here. Sound effects are pretty basic but they're decent enough some of them are functional allowing you to tell when enemies are in the area or if a particular puzzle is available and that works well. In terms of performance everything's running nice and smoothly i didn't notice any major stutters or issues in that department and as you'd hope the game is fully switch-like compatible. The only issue some players may have is text size being a touch too small for them overall for me i give the visuals 17 out of 20. And as far as the audio goes i really enjoyed it i give it 18 out of 20. another day another survival game where you washed up on an island but this time round a pleasant surprise survivalists is an excellently made game that could have a massive following it scores a switch-up score of 86.

Description :

I am dead is a puzzle adventure game you play as morris the curator of a small local museum who just happens to be dead. Since dying you see the world a bit differently as you're able to peer inside objects. It’s a bit like having supernatural x-ray vision, You can even see memories inside people's heads. Together with your dog sparky who is also dead you use your ghostly powers to reveal secrets solve puzzles and meet other ghosts. The island has a volcano beneath it which has been dormant but now it's beginning to wake up and it's up to morris and sparky to save the place they called home. So what does the player actually do in this game. Well it's hard i am dead's a unique kind of hidden object game where you use your ghostly ability to see inside things. As you examine belongings you get to ascertain them during a quite dynamic cross-section and therefore the player has full control over this and it feels very fluid and intuitive. It’s a replacement way of watching objects.

A lot of these things are just kind of beautiful and mesmerizing when you see them like this look inside this sculpture it's like an abstract sculpture but the insides are so cool and you can drill down inside things there are things inside things inside things to find. But yeah most importantly there are specific things that the player is supposed to be looking for like this horse grooming glove a horse grooming glove yeah it belonged to your old friend val when she was alive. It’s been stolen by this fox who loves stealing gloves perfectly normal behavior for a fox. What’s your favorite thing to look at in this game, probably this toaster yeah i like that one too. let's talk about why you have to find these specific things well it's to do with the other ghosts you're dead and so are they and in order to talk to them you need to find a so many more objects that is important to someone and meant something to them when they were alive we call this stuff mementos and therefore the reason you've got to speak to those other dead folks is that between you all you would possibly be ready to stop the volcano erupting and destroying the island. We need to talk about the different kinds of people you meet in this game, there are some interesting characters. Yeah, obviously there are local islanders then there are these fish folk who are a race of aquatic people that sleep in the ocean round the island a special kind of local they've only recently been coming ashore and wearing clothes and stuff like that, adopting human ways and then people have been visiting the island from elsewhere for various reasons.

The lighthouse is now a thriving yoga retreat and there's a sculpture park that attracts some of the biggest names in contemporary arts. Why is this guy an apple oh that's vernon russet he's a famous sculptor and also a braeburn. i like these bird characters yeah they're all tourists from the island of tia paquito they literally flock here in large numbers every summer especially since the new ferry has been coming to the island. Well they take the ferry can't they just fly not with all that camera equipment no. so, this is a game about ghosts but we don't think of them as ghosts really they aren't spooky at all. It’s really a game about normal people that just happen to be dead the stories of their lives told through the memories of individuals who knew them and therefore the objects that they left behind. you've got to seek out these hidden objects that meant something to them and so as to understand what you are looking for you delve inside the memories of individuals who knew them once they were alive and find out stories that they remember that person. Each memory tells you a little story and also gives you a clue as to which object you are looking for. You also get to talk to the ghosts once you have found them and of course you're always talking to your faithful dog sparky she's very cold. She’s kind of your spirit guide she has a better grip on what's going on in the afterlife than you do to be honest okay.

Description :

Absolver is one of those rare fighting games that feel remarkably different from its peers though challenging its combat isn't based on memorizing complicated series of attacks but rather on taking part in a master and apprentice system of sorts. The world around it feels underdeveloped however which leaves a lot of potential unfulfilled for now.

What's here is a beautiful but small open world a ruined Empire that often looks like a water color painting brought to life. It contains several widely different biomes and features Maps complex enough that it's sometimes easy to get briefly lost in the absence of a mini-map. It's a disappointment with a Spartan campaign set here ends abruptly only a handful of hours in revealing little about its attractive lore in its few cutscenes and scripted interactions with NPCs but of course the world is only a backdrop for the action which is beautiful and fluid to watch in motion and produces moments when the free-form battles end up looking almost choreographed. If Ubisofts for honor is about the brutality of melee combat the NEM solver is about its finesse. It concerns itself mainly with martial arts hand-to-hand violence and only occasionally yields the stage-two weapons you can summon or pick up in the environment.

One of the best features of absolver is the potential to develop a fighting style that feels uniquely your own the better name for absolver would probably be absolver in that you can slowly unlock every move you see an NPC or player using against you by dodging or blocking their attacks. As long as you go on to win those fights the moves are then available in your combat deck and you can then slot them into combo strings map to four different stances corresponding to your position around an enemy. That allows for some unique encounters in both world PvP and the one versus one arenas encountered throughout the 60 level journey. That’s especially true when you toss in variables like alternate attacks for each stance abilities like heels and knock backs map to the d-pad and separate combat decks that activate after you pick up weapons or summon them with shards you earn from taking damage. Weapons are always a risk though because they break easily and your opponent can knock them out of your hands and use them against you. There are four classes of a sort base around defensive abilities such as absorbing blows by moving the left thumbstick or evading them entirely but these are less the rigid roles of most RPGs and more like the canvas on which you paint with your palette of accumulated moves. You can mix and match the moves from one school with another for unique and creative builds. One problem though is that the blocking and dodging needed to learn all these moves often seriously bogs down the otherwise fast-paced action. Farming a mini boss for his or her moves can take long dull hours as the case of one who unlocks a drunken master said. Leveling itself has a bit of a problem as absolvo does a poor job of explaining the relation of attributes to combat styles and then doesn't let you respect your character once you understand them.

If thus encourage is playing with and against other players because learning skills by dueling or fighting mini-bosses alongside another person is much faster than against npcs it's fun and any griefing currently seems manageable as zones are based around having only three players in them at once. 3 vs 3 matches are planned but won't appear until later weapons are currently limited to swords and fist weapons with more interesting options like bo staffs on hold until later. Even crashes still happen particularly in the matrix like training room where your experiment with Dex.

Absolver is built on a strong foundation and the combat remains fun and seemingly balanced long after the short campaign. All the same absolver often feels like an early access game because of its brevity and the lack of things to do with its flexible fighting system outside of simple one-on-one duels. That said its existing best parts are addicting and polished enough to possibly make the others worth the wait few fighting games have looked as beautiful and few have felt this unique.

Absolver is a martial arts-focused action game with a role-playing system .It is a PC game published by Devolver Digital and developed by Sloclap  for Windows and PlayStation 4. in this game, players control warriors and with them you fight with other players and you have to prove their that you with it and you can join the Absolver peacekeepers. The full game story-line is based  on the human being development of those characters as they all fight to get out from  their place within the retarded empire. The worriors have so many diffrent types of special fighting moves that can also be customized within a "combat deck" full of cards, where is each and every card is used to a special move. Players earn equipment, cards, and weapons by progressing through the sport. Absolver is an action role-playing game supported martial arts fighting, featuring a seamless open world with shortcuts and free-roaming, and merging single, cooperative and competitive play within the same campaign, which is played from a third-person perspective.Players build custom combinations of strikes, parries, and feints to fight other players and computer-controlled characters.Players control warrior characters referred to as Prospect who travel the fictional land of Adal to fight other players and prove their worth to become one among the Absolver peacekeepers. As a players plays and progress is the game to unlock new equipment and armor, combat styles, and weapons, usually as "loot" dropped by defeated enemies.

Description :

Like its cast of DC heroes’ injustice 2 is exceptional the flight mechanics have been guided in the right direction following 2013's injustice gods among us there's an unbelievable amount of content it looks amazing and even its joyless story line can't take the fun out of its unrivaled combo system.

Injustice 2 strikes of fine balance between retaining the strengths of gods among us and making smart changes to improve mechanics. it's got new versions of all the fun environmental attacks, flashy transitions and over-the-top super moves but it feels and plays better thanks to things like letting you spend meter to gain invulnerable movement in order to escape projectile happy enemies or block some environmental attacks. There’s even a global increase in speed which makes mattress feel quick and agile. That’s a great change from this sometimes plotting pace of gods among us. One of the foremost most impressive mechanical aspects is injustice 2’s combo feature you can bounce your opponents off walls or the ground and toss them very high up into the air for more powerful juggle combos. Spending meter may alter the traits of a special move and open up new uses for combos it's a sheer joy once you've begun to master it.

I wasn't a fan of the dark take on DC's heroes and gods among us which is a what-if story about Superman going off the deep end after a tragic loss. So even though injustice 2's character animations and cutscenes and in-game are outstanding and border on photo realism for certain characters. I found little to love about the way they're presented here even beloved symbols of light and hope advocate killing their enemies, arguing that the harrowing events around them is the result of not having totally forever dispatched their villains in the past. Like the recent DC films injustice 2 confuses bleakness for gravity and it makes it hard to find characters to root for. Also this version of the Joker is just the worst.

On the other hand I love the multiverse mode this is finding game's answer to destiny in that it gives you the opportunity to level up your fighters earn an equip stat boosting gear for them and use those power gains to take on increasing challenges that change everyday. I was pleased to see that the more rare equipment changed characters appearances allowing you to tailor a unique look for your fighter even when the stat bonuses that come with them are turned off for competitive play. This is just a few of the huge range of parts to choose from. The sheer depth of content present might get intimidating for a newcomer once they begin to fully grasp what they're getting themselves into. though there are both general and character specific tutorials these walkthroughs only scratch the surface of the juggernaut beneath especially, in the case of the latter character training gives a brief overview of the bare basics for each face on the roster but the gap between those introductory fundamentals and the 20 hit 600 damage combos is wide and in just two does little to guide beginners across it. As Compared to Street Fighter 5 submission modes which tells you useful and easy to learn combos of accelerating difficulty and justice 2 have character tutorials relate only the bare to urge you started if you're new to fighting games you should know that pushing your success beyond the beginning stages will take some practice and time. In our testing on live servers the online multiplayer was as solid as a Kryptonian with minimal frame delay and no freezing or lag stutters with more and more opponents taking the fight online I noticed no initial stress to multiplayer servers and was still able to easily find ranked opponents to pummel. Injustice 2 even helpfully includes delay simulation in its trading mode options allowing you to replicate the slight amount of input delay you'd get playing a match online to help you hone your online combo execution.

Injustice 2 Speights improve on gods among us in nearly every way specifically addressing fan concerns about movement speed and giving you new ways to burn meter. Visually, the DC roll call shines even as they star in a flat and a necessarily grim story. The unrivaled amount to single-player content to explore especially the highlight multiverse mode and the height of a justice juice skill ceiling make it an easy environment in which to lose hours of your day without even challenging another human or giant telekinetic gorilla as it were.

Injustice 2 is a fighting pc game published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and developed by NetherRealm Studios. The game is released worldwide on 11,May,2017 but only for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4; the game is relesed on Microsoft Windows in November 2017. Injustice 2 have a replacement option known as the Gear System, a dropping system which consist loots that give players some equipment and  costume pieces with  which  they will be customize characters' skins and also customise their stats and abilities.Director Ed Boon also sought to include gameplay mechanics employed by multiplayer shooter games, like personalization, character creation, loot, and leveling up, into the fighting game genre, which led to the event of the Gear System.Injustice 2 may be a fighting game during which players compete in one-on-one combat using  mostly characters from the movie franchiese from DC Universe and so many other third-party franchises. Using so many different and unique combinations of  buttons and anlges, players must perform special moves ,basic attacks, and combos to dominate their opponents and to wreck and knock out the opposing fighters.

It is said that in the land of the blind the one-eyed man is king in that sense Halo Wars 2 is the de facto king of realtime strategy games on consoles. Where the venerable genre barely exists but compared to the best RTS games its campaign missions are flat its distinctive blitz multiplayer mode sacrifices the stability of a level playing field for fast action.

Instantly recognizable vehicles like warthogs and banshees Granton inherited personality to what is otherwise a fairly standard set of units. The single-player campaigns 12 missions took me roughly eight hours to complete including restarting a couple of them a few times. The mission design is nothing special leaning heavily on hero focused objectives of leading your spartans around the map and holdout missions against waves of enemies. There’s enough variety but only a couple think outside the box. Between missions are some exceptionally well animated cutscenes that tell the story of the UNSC starship spirit of fire. The latest Cortana stand-in isabel is surprisingly endearing especially next to the wooden captain Cutter and his three interchangeable Spartans. The new brute villain a tree ox fades into the background after a spectacularly intimidating introduction but his presence is still felt through Isabel's fear of him. On Xbox one I ran into numerous bugs in the campaign including several crashes and hangs and mission events failing to trigger it's an inconvenience I didn't expect to find in a game carrying the halo name.

We're Halo Wars feels most limited is in its controls both on console and PC. As impressive as it is that just about everything you'd want to be able to do in an RTS works reasonably well on a gamepad. It’s just too slow to select and micromanage your units effectively in combat. I expect most people will get through the campaign largely by selecting all units on-screen and throwing them into battle to fend for them and on PC a broken mini-map and other awkward controls make it feel substandard next to the likes of Starcraft 2. support powers help compensate for the lack of micromanagement dexterity, some of these are strikingly powerful when fully upgraded such as these Archer missiles that destroy a swath of enemies and the extremely useful ODST soldier drums. Using them at the right moment feels great and can absolutely turn the tide of a battle or soften up enemies who have clustered around the control point.

On top of the standard death match mode Halo Wars twos territory controlled domination matches get the support power as many moments to shine and because you're given the choice of seven commander characters with different sets of support abilities you have a lot of options then. On the other hand there's not a lot of room to experiment with base building options because placement is so rigid. There’s also another territory control mode called stronghold where you're competing to control the most base building locations on the map when the timer ends. The twist is that everyone has completely unlimited resources I call it a fun diversion like playing with Goofy cheat codes on. Blitz is the big one with no bases or unit production to worry about it's all about fast battles. Reinforcements are zapped in from a deck of collectable cards which is a cool idea on paper because it prevents you from simply repeating the same successful tactics over and over again. Improvisation feels good but I don't think it's a great fit for a competitive game because all too often you win or lose based on the luck of the draw instead of skill. Finally there's a single-player and co-op variant of blitz called firefight that's about holding out against ever increasing waves of enemies as they try and overwhelm you. Beating up on AI is a much better use of the cart mechanic.

Halo Wars 2 will scratch a real-time strategy itch and gives you a dose of Halo universe flavor with an honest story but it won't go much deeper than that a run-of-the-mill campaign controls that hamper micromanagement and multiplayer that relies on luck limit its long-term appeal but it's fast and flashy action make it fun for a while.
