Description :

the survivalists is team 17's latest offering on the nintendo switch and as the title suggests it's a survival game that feels like a cross between terraria and stardew valley. The game begins improper with a minor storytelling segment that feels straight out of cliche 101. You’re shipwrecked on an island and in all honesty it's self-referentially basic and you'll unlock other story segments in the form of short diary entries which you'll find scattered across the island, or rather islands. And there are a number of different biomes as well as temples to explore and as you'd expect there's some procedural generation that goes into determining exactly where and when you'll find these diary entries. What i will say about them is the text was a little bit small for my liking. However, i tend to sit rather close to the tv it may be a tiny bit of an issue for some in handheld although it really isn't a huge part of the game. In terms of the gameplay as you'd expect it's a survival game which can be played solo offline or you can join friends locally or through online play. there are several games in this genre already that do it very well, so it's going to need a few tricks up its sleeve and the first and foremost of these has to be the monkey mimic system.

In this title what they've cleverly done is essentially allowed you to program simple scripts. by holding the left trigger down you can tell one of your monkey followers to observe your actions and upon the pressing of the trigger again they'll try and replicate as best they can. For example, you might be hoovering up some of the rocks in the area and then they'll do exactly the same and they'll just go picking every item up that they can find. it can be really useful and it mitigates, some of the frustrations that come from the often lethargically slow pace that survival games can tend to lean towards. In addition to this they'll gradually improve their ability to do these tasks leveling up. Which was a nice touch as far as your character goes you can customize the look to an extent as well as give them a completely unique and original name. But it's that clever implementation of the monkey system that really stood out to me it's not perfect and it's certainly not without its flaws but you can actually do quite a bit with this system. Such as, training up several monkeys and having them attack dummies to fight alongside you in essence building your own planet of the apes. It takes a bit of getting used to and in all honesty i don't think i really utilize them as well as i could have but the possibilities here are quite extensive. As far as the basic survival gameplay goes you'll be able to craft a number of items from the local flora and fauna such as an axe head from a rock which can be used to knock down trees and thankfully break other items. The parts you gather from these are shown at the bottom of your screen and depending on which ones you're holding it will gradually expand your crafting potential. Now, once you've built a workbench this grows even more and new recipes aren't learnt you don't have to do anything in particular other than owning the specific ingredients required in their development. Which is a nice touch but potentially means that you're going to unlock everything quite quickly. But there are quite a lot of secrets here, once you've built up your ship you'll be able to sail away to other islands.

Upon which you can settle build new bases and try and defend yourself from attacks and raids which happen from time to time and can be a bit of a pain in the ass. Some of the biomes will do your character damage such as the hot lava planes or the fly infested swamps. There’s a risk and reward mechanic here that i quite liked because they usually have some good or rarer items for you to find. buildings are constructed through a blueprint screen from here you can place down your different blueprints the parts of which you'll need to gather and place within them and then use a multi-tool, which range from standard up to a much better version to complete the build. very similar to something like my time at porsche if you ever played that game to save your game a la minecraft you'll need to build a bed and then sleep the beds you get can gradually be improved to improve your stamina which can be seen down in the corner of your screen here your health bar is shown over on the left and it's actually split into two segments one determines your hunger while the other your overall health and if it's fully depleted then you will fall unconscious. but i've gotta say as you know i do enjoy survival games and i haven't actually died yet but that's not to say the title's easy on the contrary combat is downright challenging. you can perform a number of swings dependent on the stamina that you currently have or you can hold the button down to do a more powerful attack there's a dodge roll which also can function as a counter attack if you can time it just right but it never felt quite right to me. There’s a slight input delay intentionally but it's there to all of your actions. When you press the sprint button there's a momentary pause before your character sprints. When you swing your sword again a tiny little pause arrows and bows were much better and i did enjoy the way you could hold the button down to aim them. But the game will take a bit of getting used to. It has a very distinctive style and feel but the temple runs feel suitably challenging and going it alone can be quite a daunting affair. This is where setting up a bed right at the entrance and saving your game is probably a good idea. Throughout your adventures you'll discover other inhabitants of these islands. Many of them will be hostile and attack you on site and there are a number of hidden discoveries to make as you would hope such as fulfilling the wishes of these totems it will then bestow upon you a hidden chest. Which you'll need to bash open to retrieve the goods there is a secret shop that pops up every now and then.

The owner of who will offer you a variety of different items but allow you to sell your own. It’s a real relief when you find him as he'll very often provide food upgraded weapons and the keys to the ends of the different temples. Other than the biomes themselves which are very varied the next real aspect to consider is the wildlife that shares this land with you. there are tons of different animals and creatures dotted about the world and some of these will be essential to your survival i found it really important to build a bow and arrow as quickly as possible as those pesky rabbits are just too fast otherwise. But there's everything from deer to stags who will attack you and even large sharks who i was able to cheese with a little tactic called stand on the shore and shoot them in a face with an arrow. There’s a strange euphoria that would upset every vegan as your prey explodes into several piles of meat. These can be cooked up on a fire and as with every other crafting aspect more recipes become available dependent on the items you hold in your hand. One aspect that i haven't been able to go into a great deal is the cooperative elements and i really feel like this is where the game is probably at its strongest. The world is a daunting place solo and having someone along for the ride certainly and surely would make it easier and more exciting. When i dive down into the temple spelunking for treasure having another adventurer at my back would have been most welcome. What i will say is i would have preferred perhaps a few more crafting recipes than what's on offer but i would have said exactly. The same thing when i first played terraria and the developers did exactly that the same can be said for minecraft. it's a really solid first outing it feels good to play perhaps i'd tweak the controls a little bit if i had my own way in terms of the slight delay that i mentioned but it's very good fun. overall for me gameplay scores 18 out of 20. The controls are remarkably clever with the monkey system and functionally everything they've chosen to go with makes sense such as the dodge rolls and the counter attacks but personally i'd remove that slight input delay when you sprint. Controls for me score 16 out of 20.

The game visually reminds me of stardew valley it's not an exact replica of that aesthetic but it has a certain charm to it. On the one hand at times it looks like a classic top-down pixel art title whereas at others there are hand-drawn elements that almost have a cartoony self-shaded aspect to them. There’s some punchy colors and good contrast in the scenery and while not overly complex the environments lend themselves to the feeling that you are indeed abandoned on a tropical island. The procedural generation tends to veer on the side of crowding areas with flora and fauna. Meaning that you have to knock areas clear and make your own space and your own mark on the land. i liked that a lot and while i always like to customize my own character it did feel like they could have gone a little further in that area, but renaming and customizing your troop of monkey friends was pretty cool. One area which is a touch lacking are the different variety of weather effects. in my entire play session which was around about 10 or 12 hours i never got rained on i mean i don't know if it's not there or what it just never happened. i also saw no snow and weather in general was pretty static. i loved the soundtrack and as the game has an ongoing day night cycle it shifts quite dramatically at night time becomes much more melancholic and i found the overall direction of the music was really on point.

If you think to your favorite titles there's always either one piece of music or one environmental sound that sticks in your head and for me it was the night time shift and the real mood change that that music provided here. Sound effects are pretty basic but they're decent enough some of them are functional allowing you to tell when enemies are in the area or if a particular puzzle is available and that works well. In terms of performance everything's running nice and smoothly i didn't notice any major stutters or issues in that department and as you'd hope the game is fully switch-like compatible. The only issue some players may have is text size being a touch too small for them overall for me i give the visuals 17 out of 20. And as far as the audio goes i really enjoyed it i give it 18 out of 20. another day another survival game where you washed up on an island but this time round a pleasant surprise survivalists is an excellently made game that could have a massive following it scores a switch-up score of 86.

Description :

Steel Division Normandy 44 achieve one of the most hard feats in strategy genre. It’s a historical war game where the fun of the game and the accuracy of the history are intertwined instead of at odds.

Developer Eugen Systems has had success with real-time wargames before with it’s cleverly titled wargames series but with the multiplayer focus steel division it's escalated both the production values and tactical complexity with remarkable success. Unlike the stereotypical war 2 strategy sim steel division isn't about pushing counters across a map and expecting some dice rolls to show call at your favor. It’s a beautiful-looking game for one with rich detailed maps and units. Controlling it feels good to in your real time strategy veteran should almost immediately feel at home with its interface. There is a significant learning curve in terms of how to play skill division well but its attractive and enjoyable enough to get started with that's hard not to want to play more. Conceptually steel division works like a rock-paper-scissors game with ten different options instead of three infantry, artillery, tanks, anti-tank guns, aircraft, anti-air guns and support units. It’s a complicated dance and it can be punishingly difficult if you don't get it right. Yet, this complication is what makes still division special. It never feels like there's a layer of abstraction between the tactical choices you might make and the historical simulation of the war game. The relatively simple interface and clear great-looking graphics make it easy to tell what's happening in an engagement while an incredibly detailed simulation runs under the hood.

Eugen use actual Royal Air Force Recon photos of northern France to create their Maps. Each map certain features of the Normandy campaign most notably the hedgerows and tree lines that gave the area its nickname hedgerow hell. These options give each map its very own perticular tactical choices. very specific oddity like that gives steel division more depth as ameture players can end up engaging in a poker like set of Bluffs and counter Bluffs. It can be overwhelming to try to manage every aspect of a battlefield as a single player but with human or AI teammates the ebb and flow of the battle becomes far more manageable. In fact still division’s biggest weakness especially for new players is that there is so much detail that it can feel overwhelming early on. Yet once you do get deeper into steel division that level of diversity and customization can turn into another power. Each of the 18 divisions has its own personality and unit quirks. The American 101st airborne for example, is heavy on airpower but light on tanks while the Scottish 15th infantry can flood the field with elite foot squads but as very little air support.

While still division has a great engine interface and maps for world war ii combat the structure of its mattress can feel arbitrary because of preset escalations determining which unit types you can call in. the victory conditions can take the satisfaction out of a win. There are two conquest where victory is won by having more control over the map and destruction where victory is achieved by destroying enemy units. What’s unsatisfying about each may be self-evident conquests doesn't take casualties into account at all while destruction doesn't factor in map control. Perhaps a mixture of both would make more strategy seem viable. There are a set of single-player campaigns which are cleverly put together but they're the type that feel more like an extended tutorial to steal division’s concepts then something intended to be an interesting challenge on their own. They do that well at least especially the American one.

Steel Division Normandy 44 succeeds both at gripping simulation of historical combat and being an enjoyable multiplayer real-time tactics game a which is a memorable combo. Future games or elaborations might even smooth Normandy 44 tiny drawbacks specifically it's frequently an awesome amount of detail and insufficiency of context to its large no. of choice but its successes wildly exceed its failures.

Steel Division: Normandy 44 is a strategy game within real-time engagements. Its a pc game published by Paradox Interactive and developed by Eugen Systems, on 23,May,2017 for Microsoft Windows. The game is practically based on war II.In the game players take hold of historical units, supported the divisions that fought during the fighting in Normandy, then choose between a group of units before the beginning of a match. Once the sport is underway, the player can call in units from the chosen deck. The matches are sub-divided into three phases, with more powerful units only becoming available after a particular point within the game. Steel Division: Normandy 44 features three single player campaigns, and up to 10 vs 10 online multiplayer battles. The game features 15 maps at launch. However, the entire number of playable maps are larger thanks to all having the ability to scale in size counting on the amount of players allocated. Certain maps include amphibious gameplay elements, during which specialist units can traverse both land and water thereby bypassing chokepoints and objectives like bridges.

Description :

As a series total war certain to offer its best when creating on an already established foundation. Napoleon surpassed Empire Attila exceed Rome too and in constant fashion total war Warhammer 2 has pushed beyond. The first creating the foremost full-clad and engaging campaign the veterans series is available so far.

The headliners of this high fantasy battle royale are four extremely distinct armies all of which are fun to command. The enigmatic Lizard Men bring a combination of rampaging dinosaurs and highly potent magic to the field. Their mid and high tier units present interesting tactical considerations for where and when to commit to the melee. Since they're prone to rampage and decide they don't need your stupid orders anymore once they get in the thick of it. Despite their shared heritage the High Elves and their edgy or dark elf cousins are about as far from Reese kins of one another as you can get. High elf armies fill a niche that none of the original Total War Warhammer factions really could with a focus on small expensive units that each represent the very peak of discipline and martial excellence. Watching a unit of dauntless sword masters hold a charge as satisfyingly reminiscent of the prelude to Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings films with flashing swords cutting effortlessly through the varied horrors of sailing your line. High elves don't have much of a stomach for gore though and fight the hardest at the beginning of a battle before they've started to take casualties and get blood on their expensive cure asses. That makes Dark Elves a fantastic contrast because they become more deadly the more viscera has been spilled. They have a focus on wicked frenzied units that evoke the sinister undignified versions of Grimm's fairy tales. Lastly the Skaven are the centerpiece of the whole operation and one of the most truly different factions I've ever handled in a total war game. They inhabit ruins which an enemy can only identify as a settlement by sending an army to investigate them allowing major cities to hide in plain sight. their roster focuses on swarms of cheap units supported by powerful specialists like the hilarious and deadly doom wheel is a great fit for players who don't bat an eye at throwing lives away to get the job done and it's a great bonus that these factions can battle against the original total war Warhammer factions and multiplayer if you own both games.

Each faction also offers an array of interesting campaign mechanics Skaven spread their own brand of corruption similar to chaos and vampires in the first game while High Elves can use intrigue to spark tensions between any two factions. When you add in the ability to explore ruins and shipwrecks powerful rights that can be activated for strong temporary bonuses and the overarching battle for control of the vortex that determines victory the amount of micromanagement can start to feel overwhelming. The theme of Warhammer 2's campaign seems to be the LLL never sit around hitting end turn while waiting for buildings and armies to finish. This is an improvement from Warhammer 1 at the same time there was definitely an adjustment period. Where I had to learn that prioritizing a few things was more effective than trying to play with all of the shiny new toys at once. The Great War Tex campaign itself is this sequels greatest triumph as the major factions raced to complete rituals that represent distinct milestones on the path to victory and sabotage one another in the process. The world grows more hectic and dangerous. All the while new pieces of a simple but effective story with an interesting twist are revealed. Total war has always struggled to make the end game interesting after you've built a powerful Empire and while the chaos invasion in the last game was a decent attempt to correct this the vortex campaigns increasing application of external pressure and tense final battle make it look amateurish. However, it still falls short in the typical Total War weak spots notably politics and diplomacy.

I feel like a broken record saying this is the best total war game so far since I've felt that way about each major release since Attila but creative Assembly's designers are really honing their campaigns and factions consistently from game to game and that progression is clearly on display in total war Warhammer 2. Each of the four factions is distinct and fun to play the story and objective driven campaign is a league above anything we've seen in the total war series before in both design and presentation.
Total War: Warhammer II may be a turn-based strategy and real-time tactics computer game developed by Creative Assembly and published by Sega. The game was released for Microsoft Windows-based PCs on 28,Sept,2017.The game have absolute tactics game-play just like all the game with some of other addition within the Total War full series. The game add some amazing races  events in the single player campaign mode with the Lizardmen, High Elves, Dark Elves and Skaven. Those that own races from the primary game will have an equivalent races unlocked for multiplayer.

Description :

You know those games that can not only recall the good old days but actually bring you back there they don't not to exactly be master classes in game design but they have a certain charm to them that bends those pesky laws of time and space to bring you back to being that young child playing with toys in the garden or kitchen or bedroom.

Micromachines World Series is that kind of game flawed deeply with charm despite itself. I can't help but love the art design at imaginatively that bring you into that feeling of being a kid again flipping your little cars around the Attic workbench and setting them flying down the stairs or into each other. There’s a childish cohesion to the chaos and that's where the game shines the most. World series takes the shape of a top-down racer mimicking the point of view that you simply have twiddling with the physical toys they need all the control of a toy car too which is to mention not much in contrast of mantis bird racing which nailed the control that lacked almost everything else. Micro Machines World Series feels slippery and such as you never quite have full control you'll point yourself round the 10 tracks or 15 battle maps and love the fun and varied locations but frequently I became frustrated when I didn't nail a turn quite like I felt I should have watching other cars rocket ahead of me. there is no singleplayer championship to speak of in world series instead going all in on the online modes of play.

Micro Machines world series does smartly keep you from waiting in the menu too long by filling out slots in any game type with BOTS should no humans be around and can drop some in mid match as they join. The BOTS could be a touch too smart with no choice to change the problem they appear to be ready to stick pretty on the brink of the racing line and have almost perfectly sharp aim with the weapons. Playing with other people such as the colleague I had cohered into this with me does mitigate the problem somewhat as they'll also be fighting the controls of various degrees. Bringing the game more in line with the casuals 18s that is aiming for. Racing rather courses plays a lot like a Mario Kart where you'll do your best to stick to the best racing line while dodging and using a handful of fun nerf branded items just Gatling guns and squeaky hammers. Shortcuts can be found on each track though items play no part in accessing them so once found they really just become the de-facto method of racing.

Battle mode shares the same inventive location designs such as a garden or the drone workbench and opens them up to white flowing arena with multiple paths and shortcuts second logic key points. There are team deathmatch king of the hill and bomb delivery modes which all change up the game in a few ways. Instead of relying on the same items the 12 different vehicles they're all outfitted with different loadouts including an ultimate earned by completing the goal and destroying enemies. this does allow each vehicle to take into its own niche the ambulance is the healer the tank is the tank the hot rod is the quick damage dealer etc. unfortunately the same control issues hamper the otherwise excellent battle experience way too much. The quick movement that the battle mode asks for you to dodge enemy fire or quickly spin around to the objective or catch the moving bridge just isn't a possibility and the struggle makes the entire mode more frustrating than it needs to be.

What is there to earn from participating in the online only shenanigans beyond the fun of seeing the different arenas and their environmental hazards such as The Hungry Hungry Hippos board you'll level up for what bragging rights might be their in-game currency and of course loot box because they're the new scourge of gaming in 2017. All of this to facilitate cosmetic changes you can apply to the 12th playable vehicles in the game which is fine in and of it but doesn't give the game an overarching sense of progression like unlocking new racers. You’ll obtain everything World Series has to offer within the first few hours. Micro Machines World Series has such creative environments and an amazing art design to bring it all alive. It’s really just a shame that the act of playing it isn't all that fun thanks almost completely too loose controls. the online focus game is currently already nearly dead removing the little worth the game had unless you want to talk friends into buying this somehow just know that when we did that it wasn't much fun.

Hardcore Game players liked this so much as they give it 80% of +tive Reviews, saying "Micro Machines World Series games may be a perfect buy for everyone who mostly enjoyed the prior entries within the rise or just wants an excellent racing game that the entire family can enjoy."PlayStation LifeStyle awarded it a more negative score of 4.5 out of 10.

Description :

F1 2017 may be a confident and comprehensive racer that succeeds by embracing all of recent f1’s syncretic regulations and baking them into an excellent sports sim. It challenges us with volatile racing but rewards consistency patience and strategy. It may not be the dramatic improvement that last year's installment was over the disappointing f1 2015 but it iterates enough that it definitely usurps f1 2016 as Codemasters is greatest f1 game to date.

This year's real-world Formula 1 season saw a massive shake-up in car regulations and Codemasters has kept pace bringing all that extra girth grip and speed to the new cars in f1 2017. On a steering wheel it's probably the best false feedback I've ever felt in a codemasters game but even on a pad the extra bite is noticeable. Also featured is a smattering of delightfully distinctive retro rides from yesteryear with 12 extra f1 icons from five teams included. Letter-sound fantastic but I don't know whether that's because contemporary f1 cars sound like an angry blowfly try to escape from an upturned bucket in comparison. Weaving these classic cars through series of Invitational events is a clever and credible way of getting these old cars out on modern circuits. But the limited greatest-hits style approach does result and a lot of copies of the same car out on track whenever they're all that racing.

There are four new short tracks we can use in custom GPS and time trials but their effect on the overall package isn't really seismic what's notable is all the tracks appear more vibrant and realistic than ever and the D saturated tones that have defined codemasters racing games for many years seem to have been finally trashed. this is a really good-looking racing game from the neon glow of Singapore's skyscrapers to the shiny wet asphalt of Albert Park off track things are a little less impressive but my chief complaint here is that most of these paddock and podium vignettes are recycled from f1 2015 and f1 2016 so they're really stale at this stage.

Well Codemasters hasn't added Dan Ricardo's signature podium celebration it has added some significant tweaks for the 10th season career experience. Which is really heart lungs pancreas etc of this whole package the research and development system has been drastically broadened with an RPG s development tree that branches out across over a hundred individual upgrades. There are plenty of long-term goals here for many seasons of racing. Reliability throughout the season is also a real issue now we need to manage wear and replace key components as necessary. There are also new practice programs in f1 2017 like fuel saving which requires coasting into corners later breaking and early up shifts. If you perform well in this test you'd say will under fuel you for the main race this will juice wait but you'll have to be driving with fuel saving in mind or you will run out. The key side-effect of all this preparation micromanagement and untracked unpredictability is satisfying drama. The order that new engine part and copper hefty grid penalty what do you stick with a worn one from your original allocation. Do you stay up for one more lap on a set of nearly cooked intermediates once the track is mostly dried up to avoid double stacking in the pits or do you play it safe and come in behind your teammate. The one thing it could do with more of though is a motion like if Codemasters wants the f1 series to sit alongside other sports seems like FIFA or NBA 2k or MLB the show has to be a better way to tell you that you're world champion than a text box.

F1 2017 isn't light years before the already excellent f1 2016 but the new cars retro content and therefore the juiced up career mode make a robust case for the upgrade and that i really appreciated the improved force feedback on a wheel rich with details and faithful to only about everything that creates contemporary f1 tick f1 2017 is about nearly as good a simulation of one modern motorsport as you'll get.
